Avid urban farmers, the clients for this extensive remodel sought to create space for their growing family without significantly expanding the footprint of their home. We designed a basement remodel, all new kitchen and other main level renovations. The project also includes water-smart rainwater harvesting and greywater irrigation systems.
As with all GHA projects, freehand drawings were used to provide quick but highly descriptive studies of the project as it was developed.
A 2400 gallon rainwater catchment system located beneath expanded rear deck is plumbed to garden irrigation and lower level toilet. Greywater irrigation from clothes washer also provides irrigation.
Solar shading from recycled banners (not yet installed when professional photography was done) protects kitchen windows.
